Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the organizing committee of the 70th Korean Congress of Radiology (KCR 2014), it is our great honor and pleasure to invite you to KCR 2014 to be held from October 8 (Wed) to 11 (Sat), 2014 in Seoul, Korea. The theme for this year’s meeting is "Evidence, Values and Radiology,” which seeks to emphasize the importance of research and tests based on evidence that may lead to more valuable and accurate analyses and readings in the field of radiology.

It is the wish of the Korean Society of Radiology (KSR), the organizing society of KCR, to have the privilege to share its experience and knowhow with colleagues from the four corners of the world through KCR 2014. KSR opened its congress to the international audience in 2007, and since then, the number of sessions operated in English has increased to almost 80% of the program. This shows the dedication of KSR to share its expertise with the rest of the world and grow together for the future of radiology.

This year, we are pleased to host the 70th edition of KCR. During the past 70 years, the KSR has continued to grow both in size and quality internationally with its academic accomplishments and competitiveness being recognized worldwide. The KSR had over 3,000 participants at its last congress, and expects to continue its great track record this year.

To do so, the organizing committee is designing the best possible program with high quality scientific sessions that will provide a great opportunity for all participants to keep up-to-date with the latest research findings. To serve this purpose, KCR 2014 is planning to invite about 40 world renowned scholars from 14 countries. Among them, Dr. Sachio Kuribayashi, Professor of Keio University School of Medicine, Japan and Immediate Past President of Japan Radiological Society (JRS), will give the Congress Lecture at the Opening Session.

KSR believes that a positive outlook and attitude and an open, humble, and sincere scientific mind are essential for promoting active collaboration. In this regard, we are also preparing various joint symposia with international and domestic organizations such as the JRS, the Turkish Society of Radiology (TSR), the Korean Society for Radiation Oncology (KOSRO), and the Korean Society of Imaging Informatics in Medicine (KSIIM). In particular, the pre-congress will be organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which will be attended by prominent invited speakers from the National Evidence-based Healthcare Collaborating Agency (NECA), and the International Society of Radiology in addition to the WHO and the IAEA.

In addition to serving as a significant platform for exchanging valuable ideas, KCR 2014 will offer its participants a chance to socialize and interact with colleagues and friends from all parts of the world.

We believe that the congress will bring innovation and further advancement in the scientific level and quality in the study of radiology. In this regard, we extend our heartfelt invitation to you to join us at KCR 2014 in Seoul during the beautiful season of October. We are looking forward to seeing you at the congress!

Sincerely yours,
