On behalf of the organizing committee of the 69th Korean Congress of Radiology (KCR 2013), it is our great honor and pleasure to invite you to KCR 2013, which will be held from October 9 (Wed) to 12 (Sat), 2013 in Seoul, Korea.

The organizing society, the Korean Society of Radiology (KSR), has continued to grow both in size and quality internationally with its academic accomplishments and competitiveness being recognized worldwide. It is the wish of the KSR to have the privilege to share its experience and knowhow with colleagues from the four corners of the world through KCR 2013. KSR opened its Congress to the international audience in 2007, and since then, the number of sessions operated in English has increased to over 70% of the whole program. This shows the dedication of KSR to share its expertise with the rest of the world and to grow together for the future of radiology.

The theme for this year’s meeting is "Active Collaboration: The Ultimate Future of Radiology,” which seeks to emphasize the importance of continued collaboration between radiologists and clinicians to ensure high quality research and practice. KSR believes that a positive outlook and attitude and an open, humble, and sincere scientific mind are essential for “active collaboration.” In this regard, new session formats will be introduced to maximize the sharing of scientific knowledge, including Multisession Courses in which experts will discuss cutting-edge topics. Furthermore, under the year’s global theme, a pre-congress meeting on the theme of hybrid imaging and Joint Symposium with the International Cancer Imaging Society (ICIS) will be organized.

The organizing committee is designing the best possible program with high quality scientific sessions so that KCR 2013 may provide a great opportunity for all participants to keep up-to-date with the latest research findings. To serve this purpose, KCR 2013 is planning to invite more than thirty world renowned scholars from thirteen countries. Among them, Dr. Dow-Mu Koh, who is a consultant radiologist in functional imaging in Royal Marsden Hospital, Sutton, UK, and treasurer of International Cancer Imaging Society (ICIS), will give the Congress Lecture in the Opening Session.

In addition to serving as a significant platform for exchanging valuable ideas, KCR 2013 will also offer its participants a chance to socialize and interact with colleagues and friends from all parts of the world.

We believe that the Congress will bring innovation and further advancement in the scientific level and quality in the study of radiology. In this regard, we extend our heartfelt invitation to you to join us at KCR 2013 in Seoul during the beautiful season of October. We are looking forward to seeing you at the Congress.
Sincerely yours,
